JEE Main Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification- Applicants must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam in 2022, 2023, or be appearing in 2024. They should have focused on STEM disciplines like physics, chemistry & maths.
- Percentage Requirement: General category candidates need a minimum aggregate of 75%, while SC/ST candidates require 65% in their qualifying exam.
- Age Criteria- General category candidates born on or after October 1, 1999, are eligible. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the birth date should be on or after October 1, 1994.
- Attempts- Applicants can take JEE Main for a maximum of three consecutive years. There is no attempt limit for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
- Admission to IITs- The top 2,50,000 rank holders in JEE Main are eligible for JEE Advanced, the gateway to IITs.
- State and Other Institutions- Several states and institutions consider JEE Main scores for admissions. Check the specific criteria of these institutions.
