BMW R1300 GS Standard Feature

The design of the R 1300 GS has been revealed. It will have a long space area for strength with a manly front that will include a slanted front light, a radar structure, auxiliary lights below the mouth and a small visor on top. BMW R 1300 GS also featured a twin-canister arrangement derived from Akrapovic. It is light, fast and ideal for providing cruiser capability. BMW could opt for a more advanced scheme for the R 1300 GS and outfit it with front telelever and back paralever springs instead of the current cylindrical casing.

The R 1300 GS is powered by a 1,300 cc twin-chamber fighter motor that produces 143.5 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. There are four riding modes: Downpour, Street, Eco and Enduro and three discretionary modes: Dynamic, Powerful Expert and Enduro Master. The bike manufacturer claims that the new powertrain is more minimalist and lighter than before. Next, the bike weighs 12 kg, not exactly the same as the Active model.

Suspension

The suspension gets a nice update, with the bike getting an EVO Telelever unit at the front and center and another EVO Paralever unit at the rear. BMW additionally offers a discretionary element suspension which means that damping and spring preload can be quickly changed. The discretionary DSA also comes with a versatile seat level that progressively changes the seat level while slowing down and stopping.

Design

The R 1300 GS looks more luxurious than the R 1250 GS. The gas tank is currently commendable and the bike looks compact too. Also featuring is the X-molded grid LED front light with polarizing point 4 DRL. It looks extreme yet doesn’t quite match up with the general scheme of the cruiser, similar to the unbalanced front lights on the R 1250 GS. The ergonomics appear to be as comfortable as the ADV.

The new BMW R 1300 GS will replace the existing R 1250 GS and will be powered by a 1,300 cc fighter twin motor. It will be mated to a six-speed gearbox and produce 143bhp and 143Nm. The bike is based on another sheet metal shell principle outline made of steel, which BMW says has been upgraded to provide better space and strength. The previous outline is currently a prototype of a dust-formed aluminum unit. The result is lighter weight, better power and better control of the cruiser, especially when operating over rough terrain. The BMW R 1300 GS gets another 1,300 cc fighter twin motor which is liquid cooled and makes 143.5 bhp at 7,750 rpm. Peak torque output is rated at 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The power and torque output increases by around 9 bhp and the torque output develops by 6 Nm.

The R 1300 GS comes with an extensive list of components, which makes sense. It gets a 6.5-inch full variety TFT show, keyless start, four standard riding modes – Downpour, Street, Eco and Enduro. Similarly, customers can also optionally get the Expert Bundle, which opens up three additional riding modes – Dynamic, Unique Master and Enduro Star. The refreshed R 1250 GS range gets new versatile cornering lights, with the front lamp reflector set to rotate in a 30 degree circular segment, so when the bike approaches a corner and the front lamp is on the plunge bar, the front lamp turns and Grabs it, comes back and doesn’t know where the bike is going. Light can similarly change levels along a pillion radius. BMW says it has refreshed the Slope Start Control (HSC) framework on the Cruiser and it is similar to the HSC pro.
